My Inventions, My Love, My Dungeon
My Inventions:
Here is a photo of the home made straw grid i blogged about previously. Love this thing ! Now if I could just get a million more straws and make one big enough for a soft box that would be great !
My Love:
Meet Gia ! the studio mascott and my favorite model ever. If you come over for a shoot she promises free kisses.
My Dungeon:
This is where i spend 90 % of my life, just thought it might be interesting to see the strange things that wind up on a photographers desk. moisturizer, wax (for jewelry), rulers, exactos, empty pen holders, oh yeah and my tip jar :)
Portfolio Shoot with Aspiring Model Vianni
Had a shoot yesterday with an aspiring model Vianni. She was recently rejected by model mayhem (cannot believe this) MM lets so many crazies on their website but they reject Vianni! With her new photos she should be the new face to recognize on MM. This was her first photo shoot, which I pride myself to specializing in. It is important that anyones first shoot experience be enjoyable. I love helping people build their confidence and I love making people feel beautiful (this is why i love photography). After the first few frames and some extremely cheesy jokes from me, Vianni became more comfortable and got some great shots out of it.

Composing The Shot
I did a portrait session today with a Boston based music composer Jean Y. Foo. You can check her out at http://www.jeanyfoomusic.com/ we did some shots with her beautiful piano and natural lighting. We also had a great team of hair and makeup artists. Christy Lavallee did her makeup http://www.modelmayhem.com/1553757 , and Jessica Feeley did some beautiful romantic curls http://www.modelmayhem.com/1668195. Here are some shots. To book your own portrait session check out www.brmimaging.com and contact me at brmimaging@gmail.com

What do straws have to do with it ?
So I went to Hunts the other day on a search for a small grid for my flash unit, and they didnt have one ! only a display one which they wouldnt sell. I also needed some thunder grey backdrop paper which was out of stock and only on display ! it was a shopping flop to say the least. I convinced them to give me the old beat up display paper at a super discount. I still needed a grid for my flash so i went home and started a project (this happens daily) I cut up some straws, meticulously painted each one, strapped them together with some gorilla tape and walla ! a free grid (beats paying $30 for a peice of plastic at Hunts). Another problem was the fact that I dont keep models in my closet so I had to get out the remote and test it on myself. p.s. Im wearing a bathing suit (it was 100 degrees and i dont have AC) Here are the results. Keep in mind this low key lighting is new for me, so feel free to give input.

Fierce In the City
Had a shoot today downtown Boston, with Tonn Model Cayla. We had a lot of fun, considering the intense time crunch we were under I think the shoot turned out pretty well. She was a great model ! My favorite is the window reflection one, i think that was at a starbucks. This is probably too many photos to post from one shoot but i always liked picture books with as little words as possible. :) so enjoy the picturebook, and let me know your thoughts.
